In 2012 Monster Truck Gallery and Studios implemented new plans for audience engagement, a new exhibition format and introduced a new gallery space (north of Monster Truck). Again MT collaborated extensively on projects and exhibitions that contributed to Monster Truck’s primary aim to participate on a wide and varied visual art platform.
Some collaborations in 2012 included an exhibition of works by the artists on the international residency at Cow House Studios, Wexford; the annual Black Church print seasons and a two-person show for the PhotoIreland festival with London-based artists Suzanne Mooney and Mark McCullough. Individual exhibitions included the painter Hugh Delap, with a collection of abstract paintings made during his residency at the Royal Hibernian Academy; Adrian Duncan whose work in installation and sculpture focused on where art and the sciences cross over, through fictional and non-fictional narratives; and Carl Giffney – whose practice is responsive to social context, site and resources – with an exhibition focusing on new social capital.
